Job Posting: Territory Manager / Field Sales Rep - KC, St. Louis

Johnson Company Manufacturers’ Representative is a professional manufacturers rep firm focusing on Sensors, Interconnects, and Electronic Solutions. We have structured a line card that is very strong for OEM sensing solutions, flexible for custom interconnect and cable requirements and distribution savvy for logistics and component sales.  We can assist on a standard part, engineer custom components, or support development of a complete wireless/cellular IoT solution enabling customers to enter new markets and generate new revenue streams.
We are seeking a field sales engineer/representative with solid experience in the electronic and/or electro-mechanical field to aggressively seek out and provide technical product support and design assistance to OEM customers in the KC and STL marketplace.  Home based, flexible environment, results driven.  CRM system will fully detail out all existing business and existing opportunities in marketplace, in addition to the goal of capturing new business. The candidate must be able to aggressively seek out, identify, profile, and pursue new market opportunities and assist customers with identifying the proper technical solution for their requirements by providing technical product information and design assistance.  FAE support is also available from both an internal standpoint, as well as territory visits by factory personal seeking to engage with local customer base.

Mechanical or electrical engineering degree is preferred, but not required.  Salary will start with a base, but would transition to a commission formula with no maximum income limit.  Income is only limited by employees' ambition and motivation.  Excellent benefits included (Health, 401(k) with company contributions, Life, etc).  

Travel required will mainly be within 4-5 state territory (Missouri, Kansas, Southern Iowa, Nebraska, Southern tip of Illinois), however factory trips for training and sales meetings will also be required from time to time.  Overseas travel is optional and may be an exciting aspect of the business.  

Description:
To utilize the capabilities and technologies of the entire line card of manufacturers represented in order to seek out, identify, profile, and pursue new and existing market opportunities to generate sales revenue.
To solve both simple and complex customer problems and to provide real value through technical expertise and commercial skills for both our customers and manufacturers represented.
To provide sales related services to existing customers, new customers, and complete sales administrative functions as directed by management and in support of all manufacturers represented.
To provide sales support to our distribution partners, utilizing company resources to help manage and expand activity in the territory for sales growth.

Skills:
Technical:  To understand represented products and services, technical specifications, design fundamentals, and manufacturing processes, to provide customer design assistance in product selection, function, and complete solutions.
 Sales:  To effectively use time, support personnel, and materials to maximize the sales process and generate revenue.
Individual must be a self-starter, able to work unassisted, great communicator and a positive team player.
Engineering degree is also considered strongly advantageous, but not required.

Sales experience of similar products in our territory (KC and STL) is considered highly advantageous.

Location within the Kansas City market or St. Louis marketplace is required.
