What's New

September 2007 - Johnson Company once again visited Hirose for their private show in Tokyo, Japan.  The Hirose private show is held approximately once every three years and is an avenue for Hirose to showcase all their connectors to key customers and personnel involved with Hirose.  Hirose is one of the world's top 10 connector manufacturers with over $1B in sales.  They have an extensive line of connectors and this was a great avenue to see and learn about the newest technology and newest connectors to hit the market for our customers.

August 2007 - Johnson Company welcomed James Nielsen to the team with 15 plus years of sales experience in the electronics industry.  After he received his degree he began his career as a regional sales manager for a local electro-mechanical company. After several years of success in turning around troubled territories throughout the world, he was promoted to the position of International Sales Manager and then accepted the position of Director of European Sales. James then moved from the electro mechanical component industry into the electronic manufacturing service (EMS/CM) industry. With his experience as a territory/representative sales manager, plus his own direct sales experience, and his experience with components as well as value add and full turnkey assemblies, we are excited to welcome James Nielsen to the Johnson Company.

May 2007 -  China Visit.  As a commitment to our customers and to our manufacturers' represented, we visited Suzhou for a week to visit several manufacturing facilities.  We believe strongly in visiting the factories that we represent so that we have a first hand understanding of the end products and process to provide as much value to our customers as possible.

May 14-17, 2007 -  EDS, Electronic Distribution Show.  While OEM customers remains our focus, Johnson Company continues to support our manufacturers and distribution partners for standard products through the electronic distribution channel.  Meetings were held with all the major distribution companies in conjunction with our manufacturers' to further the development of sales strategies for new growth.  EDS is an annual event that Johnson Company has participated for over 20 years.

March 2007 -  Johnson Company participated with our customer (a Fortune 500 company) in an audit of the Measurement Specialties Humirel Division located in Toulouse, France.  Humirel is one world leaders in humidity sensors and is one of the newest divisions of Measurement Specialties as they continue to expand their technologies in sensors and transducers.  After two full days of reviewing the complete process flow and quality system, Humirel passed the audit with high marks.

June 2006 - Johnson Company welcomed Jim Sletten to the sales team. Jim began his electronics career working for Honeywell Solid Sate Electronics Center (SSEC) in Plymouth, MN for ten years where they designed and manufactured state of the art integrated circuits.   In 1992, he entered into a Field Sales position with a National Distributor, Kent Electronics, and for nine years he sold interconnect, passive, and electrical-mechanical products including custom value added cable assemblies.  He grew his business into a very successful territory which included North and South Dakota, Western WI, and local Minneapolis accounts.  In 2001, Kent was acquired by Avnet Electronics and he continued his sales career with them through much of 2004. In 2005, Jim joined Sager Electronics to develop new medical and industrial accounts for the Minneapolis and Iowa territory.  June 1, 2006 he joined Johnson Company and is responsible for North Dakota and Minneapolis accounts.  He looks forward to working with all his customers in developing new relationships and new business opportunities.
