Johnson Company is expanding and seeking to hire an experienced, self-motivated, and team player to manage key product lines represented by our company. As a pivotal member of our team, you will be focused on partnering with various stakeholders to effectively drive the strategy forward for growth within key defined represented manufacturers.

Johnson Company Manufacturers Representative is a professional sales company focusing on Sensors, Switches, Controls, Interconnects, and Electronic Solutions. We have structured a group of companies that is very strong for OEM sensing and switching solutions, flexible for custom interconnect and cable requirements and distribution savvy for logistics and component sales. We can assist on a standard part, engineer custom components, or support development of a complete solutions enabling customers to enter new markets and generate new revenue streams.

As a professional manufacturers' representative, we are the contracted technical and commercial sales team for these companies. These manufacturing companies are our "Principals" in which we then support and service both end customers and distribution partners without our geographic region.

Positional Duties and Requirements:

Positive Image / Often key contact for Principals / Distribution / Customers

Primary: Key Product Management Functions:

  • Sales Cycle management and Reporting to Principals
  • Sales Budget management for selected key Principals
  • Management of Goals and Objectives for selected key Principals
  • Compile and Present key data and results for Business Reviews

Secondary: Key Sales Functions:

  • Own sales activity for lead follow-up in conjunction with Technical Insides Sales
  • Proactively create lost sales revenue reviews for key Principals
  • Design Registration and Split Tracking support
  • Qualify customer targets and setup calls for Outside Sales

Secondary: Key Marketing Functions:

  • Organize New Product Introduction (NPI) products for selected Principal Products
  • Presentation of NPI material to in-house Field Sales team
  • Coordination of NPI material for distribution branch trainings with Channel Manager
  • Social Media / Marketing Platform management for selected products/markets
  • Management of 3rd party resources for marketing creation and promotion

Secondary: Key Technical Functions:

  • Engineering/Technical background not required, but beneficial
  • Ability to acquire technical data quickly from key Principals
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical competitive advantages for key products

Team Player:

  • Maintain clear communication with Outside Sales to achieve goals
  • Maintain clear communication with Inside Sales on targeted customers
  • Proactively manage communication to Principals on goals/metrics
  • Document / Report activity to support effort towards meeting goals/metrics

Distribution Support

  • Support Johnson Company Channel Manager to maintain clear goals and follow-ups
  • Sales Support and Direct Customer engagement as needed
  • Coordinate with Principals for data and support information

Professional style and communication format acceptable for various stakeholders

  • Clean, concise, organized format for ease of information presentation
  • Know audience and information for each stakeholder (Principal / Distribution / Customer)

Multi-Task ability to manage on-going activity and follow-ups

Industry experience with Electronic and Electromechanical components is required. Midwest market knowledge and technical product knowledge is beneficial, but not required.

Candidate must be self-starting, motivated, team player, and have excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

Growth opportunities in the future may include added management responsibilities, possible transition to outside sales in future or other positions not even yet defined. As a small company we are flexible to collaborate with great people to help retain and expand roles and/or responsibilities as our company continues to grow.

Headquarter office location is in Blaine, MN. Office time will be required, but position will be a hybrid combination between office time and remote work each week.
